Well the Rickets slammed out another Lp in Austin recently, and in true Ricket fashion.  Dave Percefull(producer/engineer) took the helm for this one.  The Rickets spent a week at Yellow Dog Studio recording their 2nd Lp in two years.  The first mix sounds killer, thanks to Dave! He’s the best guy out there to have behind the board!  The final mix may be ready in August, then the mastering by Mr. Tubbs!

KTSW 89.9FM out of San Marcos,Tx and KACC 89.7 from Alvin,Tx have our CD and showed interest in Possible airplay.  KTSW’s “Local Show” w/Ben & Jen airs every Monday from 6-8pm and they play songs from local artists, as does KACC.  You can help us out by emailing them and requesting your favorite tune, maybe they’ll oblige!

Never Get the Blues” has landed on an online radio playlist!  Bill Gregory from the “Texas Music Radio Show” has added our song to his rotation.   He runs an independent radio show off live365.com and plays mostly Country, but we might just change that!  The show is based in Lexington, Tx.  We’re thrilled to rub shoulders with some great artists on the current playlist.  Check out the site and maybe you’ll catch us on the air!!

Sir Bob was recently interviewed via phone by Dave Wheaton from the “Coming Home Radio Show” out of Grapeland,Tx.(KBHT), Sir Bob talks about the band and the album. Dave’s website features Texas independent musicians and their songs, and he’s been nominated for “Disc Jockey of the Year” by the Texas Music Awards. It’s a great way for indie artists to get recognition and publicity. You can subscribe to Dave’s podcast by clicking on the “audio archives” from the menu. Much thanks to Dave for the opportunity and his interest in the Rickets!  The radio show will be available for download from the “Coming Home” website Feb. 9th.

Hi again Ricketeers-we’ve been featured on the Americana Music Times webpage as the #5 of the “Best 10 albums of 2008 that no one told you about”.  Loads of thanks to Steve Circeo for including us in his picks and including our song “The Loneliest Boy in the World” on his audio podcast.  Other bands’ songs are on it as well, but he rated us at #5!  That works for me!  Note: if you let the podcast play a minute and hit the “forward” button it will take you directly to our song and Steve mentioning us.  So check it out!
